Why is Ares Galaxy not connecting to network....

The answer is simple ..........Its new version is out...........Ares 1.9.4

This is the biggest drawback of a p2p sharing software, when a new version is launched the old one just stops working and most people end up adjusting their proxy settings to know what's wrong?

Ares is an open source too, so updates are more frequent..

So, download the latest version .

What do to when you get locked out of CAR

Have you locked your keys in the car?
Does you car have remote keys?

This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone:
If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home,
call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone.
Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the
person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the
mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from
having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could
be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the
other "remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).

Please try it and let me know

How to Figure 2 way mirrors from Normal Mirrors

Hey everyone....m sharing dis important info with u all

When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing rooms, etc. How
many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on
the wall is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way mirror (i.e. they can
see you, but you can't see them)? There have been many cases of people
installing 2-way mirrors in female changing rooms. It is very difficult
to positively identify the surface by just looking at it. It's time to
get paranoid. So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty?
Well, once again, I am here to enlighten you. Just conduct this simple

Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if
there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then
it is a GENUINE mirror. However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES
the image of your nail, then BEWARE, for it is a 2-way mirror!

You can further ascertain the nature of the suspect surface by hurling an object
(e.g. a chair!!!) at it. The chair will go through.

So remember, every time you see a mirror, do the "fingernail test". It
doesn't cost you anything. It is simple to do, and it might save you
from getting "visually raped"!

Bill gate is challenged by a 12th standard Indian Guy

Be proud......Breaking news!!! Bill gates Challenged by an Indian!!!

Just one INDIAN is challenging against Bill gates...... This is not only ground breaking news; it's space-breaking news indeed. Fwd it to as many Indians as possible.

Ramlal Bhagat, a XII std. student from Haryana, has developed a 32-bit operating system demonstrated to be far superior to any of the desktop operating systems in the market today.

The program has been named "O-Yes". O-Yes provides operating system services on any Pentium-based Personal computer (PC) and does not require MS- DOS as a base operating system. The operating system's capabilities were demonstrated in a student convention at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi. HCL Ltd. conducted benchmarks on the system and published results, which are partly reported here: O -Yes is 34% faster than Microsoft's Windows 95 on similar hardware.

It is 29% faster than IBM's OS/2. O-Yes loads 54% quicker than Windows 95 or OS/2. O-Yes has a customizable, user-friendly graphical User Interface (GUI), in which every
program can be accessed with a maximum of two button clicks. The operating system provides plug n play
capability with numerous hardware devices. It has a superior memory management function. The operating system is compatible with Windows 95 & WindowsNT4.0.
HCL, Ltd. has offered an unknown amount to Ramlal Bhagat for purchasing the rights to the software.

Ramlal Bhagat, described as" quiet and philosophical" by is
peers, was not available for comment. Suresh Reddy, spokesman for HCL Ltd., said, "This is the operating system that the world has been waiting for". On HCL's move to purchase the rights to the software, he said,

"We are here to ensure that Mr.Ramlal gets fair recognition and compensation for his innovation. HCL Ltd. Can provide him a firm launch-pad to market software globally".

Is this the beginning of the end of the Bill Gates' monopoly?

Let's see...

Send this to as many of your friends and relatives as possible so that When the product hits the marketevery one will appreciate it

Free Linux Cds Anyone???????????????

Humour - a Visual Joke

Let's say it's 6.15 pm and you're driving home (alone of course) after an
unusually hard day on the job.

You're really tired, and frustrated. Suddenly you start experiencing severe
pain in your chest that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your
jaw. You are only five miles from the hospital nearest your home.
Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far. You have
been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how
to perform it on yourself.

Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help,
the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint,
has only about 10 seconds left before losing conscious.

However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.

Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.

Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!!!

Don't ever think that you are not prone to heart attack if your age is less
than 25 or 30. Nowadays due to the change in the life style, heart attack is found among people of all age groups.

What is Open Source?

A lot of friends of mine wanted to know about the concept of Open Source Projects. So, here is a brief explanation of it:
Source: Webopedia

Generically, open source refers to a program in which the source code is available to the general public for use and/or modification from its original design free of charge, i.e., open. Open source code is typically created as a collaborative effort in which programmers improve upon the code and share the changes within the community. Open source sprouted in the technological community as a response to proprietary software owned by corporations.

A certification standard issued by the Open Source Initiative (OSI) that indicates that the source code of a computer program is made available free of charge to the general public. The rationale for this movement is that a larger group of programmers not concerned with proprietary ownership or financial gain will produce a more useful and bug -free product for everyone to use. The concept relies on peer review to find and eliminate bugs in the program code, a process which commercially developed and packaged programs do not utilize. Programmers on the Internet read, redistribute and modify the source code, forcing an expedient evolution of the product. The process of eliminating bugs and improving the software happens at a much quicker rate than through the traditional development channels of commercial software as the information is shared throughout the open source community and does not originate and channel through a corporation's research and development cogs.

OSI dictates that in order to be considered "OSI Certified" a product must meet the following criteria:

  • The author or holder of the license of the source code cannot collect royalties on the distribution of the program
  • The distributed program must make the source code accessible to the user
  • The author must allow modifications and derivations of the work under the program's original name
  • No person, group or field of endeavor can be denied access to the program
  • The rights attached to the program must not depend on the program's being part of a particular software distribution
  • The licensed software cannot place restrictions on other software that is distributed with it.
Popular Open Source: Mozilla, Ares Galaxy, Sourceforge

What is DOS?
MS-DOS (for MicroSoft Disk Operating System) is an operating system commercialized by Microsoft. It was the most widely used member of the DOS family of operating systems and was the dominant operating system for the PC compatible platform during the 1980s. It has gradually been replaced on consumer desktop computers with various generations of the Windows operating system.

Fwd: Must See for Every Indian

A winner is not the one who never fails, But one who NEVER QUITS.

In the early 1960's ..India was slowly awakening to the Space age....Although rest of the world was preparing to reach for the Moon...we were making our humble beginning...a small rocket took off from Thumba on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram, announcing the birth of the modern space age in India. That was when the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS) formally came into existence. Over the years, TERLS have given birth to the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) and to the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)...

Some Pics that will make every Indian proud...

Pics that say...we may not be as successful as the US or Russia...but we are there watch out for us...

This was how the Rocket Cone was transported to the Launch Pad at Thumba !!

Web Conferencing Email i wanted to share

intersting article i got on email

Web Conferencing - What is it?
by: Diane Parker

Web Conferencing is, very simply, a meeting, conference or seminar that is held over the World Wide Web. Web conferencing can refer to audio, video or text-based conversations and are conducted in real-time.

Web conferencing is an incredibly useful resource for anyone who trades within a global market place. It literally allows you to be in two places at once - sitting at home or in your office whilst conducting a meeting with someone one the other side of the world.

In its simplest form web conferencing can take the form of free downloads such as Microsoft NetMeeting or Yahoo Messenger. Subscribers can participate in text-based 'chats', inviting others into their conversations and being able to communication in real-time. Add a simple digital camera to this equation and you have the beginnings of an elementary web conferencing application.

At the other end of the scale, the most sophisticated applications allow seminars and presentations to be made to hundreds of delegates at the same time. Meetings can be fully interactive, allowing question and answer sessions, the sharing of files and documents and slide show presentations to be broadcast.

What Can I Do With Web Conferencing?

How you choose to use web conferencing will very much depend upon your line of work. A webinar (an online seminar) is less interactive than a web meeting, but is a very effective means of presenting sales pitches, performance reviews and delivering staff training.

A web meeting on the other hand, can be fully interactive not only in terms of audio and video but also by allowing the sharing of documents and files and viewing them online.

What is Online Collaboration?

Online collaboration is an excellent resource for project management, especially when team members are located in different geographical locations. Online collaboration provides an advanced level of document management and file sharing. Documents and files can be viewed, modified and updated online and in real time.

What Are The Benefits Of Web Conferencing?

The main benefits of web conferencing are to be found in terms of time and money savings. The need for travel is greatly reduced, and therefore so are the associated costs of travel - tickets, accommodation, subsistence, to name but a few. Employees spend less time waiting for flights, travel or just generally being away from their desk and therefore have more time to spend productively.

Enhanced communication is another benefit of web conferencing. Where colleagues could perhaps only meet face to face a few times a year, for example, web conferencing allows them to meet on a daily basis, if required. With people talking more, work gets done more efficiently and more accurately.

How Much Does It Cost?

The cost of web conferencing depends on how sophisticated an application you need. Low-level, one-to-one systems can be set up these days for virtually nothing. The most advanced systems, unsurprisingly, can run into thousands of dollars. Careful research, however, and thoughtful analysis of what you need from a web conferencing system can allow you to budget accordingly and match a system to your needs. The chances are, if you are spending money on travel then you will recoup the cost of your web conferencing software over time.

About the author:
Diane Parker is a web content writer who specializes in internet related topics. Her conferencing articles include: web conferencing software, choosing a web conferencing tool and internet conferencing.

Parallels Desktop for Mac

Parallels Desktop for Mac is the first solution that gives Apple users the ability to run Windows, Linux or any other operating system and their critical applications at the same time as Mac OS X on any Intel-powered iMac, Mac Mini, MacBook or MacBook Pro.

Unlike dual-boot solutions, in which users must completely shut down Mac OS X and endure a full OS start-up cycle to access a important application, Parallels Desktop for Mac empowers users with the ability to run important Windows programs like Outlook, Access, Internet Explorer and all other applications without having to give up the usability and functionality of their Mac OS X machine even for a few minutes.

Play all your Audios and Videos with VideoLAN VLC PLAYER

VideoLAN / VLC PLAYER - Plays all your Audios and Videos

VideoLAN is an excellent multimedia player with it's own plugins for playing different formats, so it doesn't need any codecs to be installed. It works great for previewing partially downloaded files too. It can also be used as a server to stream on a (wired or wireless) high-bandwidth IP (Internet Protocol) version 4 or 6 network in multicast or unicast. VLC (VideoLAN Client) is cross-platform and supports Windows, Mac OS X, BeOS, Debian GNU (GNU's Not Unix) Linux, Gentoo Linux, Mandrake Linux, Red Hat Linux, Slackware Linux, Novell's SuSE (System und Software Entwicklung = System and software development) Linux, Turbo Linux, Zaurus, NetBSD (Berkeley Software Distribution), OpenBSD, FreeBSD, Solaris and QNX. The installer includes the eMule partfile plugin, which lets you preview eMule partfiles more efficiently.

3Gp to raw AVI Conveter

3Gp to raw AVI Conveter
900KB only

If u need to convert use 3gp convertor

if the 3GP or 3GPP clip doesn't work for you to view on your PC , follow these simple steps:

- Get the 3GP converter setup from Download link below
- Unzip it
- Install it
- Run the software
- In the ensuing window, go to the section saying Single File Conversion.
- Browse, and open your 3GP file. If its a 3GPP file, simple rename the file, so that the extension becomes 3GP. It will still render correctly as an AVI once MIKSOFT's excellent tool converts
- A console window [or MS-DOS window, as some of you call it] shall pop up. It will give a Batch file error. DO NOT close it. It will still convert the 3GP file into an AVI, which will reside in the same directory as your 3GP clip.

FREE POP access to Yahoo Mail

FREE POP access to Yahoo Mail

YahooPOPs! is an open-source initiative to provide free POP3 access to your Yahoo! Mail account.

This application emulates a POP3 server and enables popular email clients like Outlook, Netscape, Eudora, Mozilla, Calypso, etc., to download email from Yahoo! accounts.

This application acts like a gateway. It provides a POP3 server interface at one end to talk to email clients and an HTTP client (browser) interface at the other which allows it to talk to Yahoo!

YahooPOPs! is also available for UNIX @ the authors site.
